Roof insulation for heating/bills reduction - for a warmer space and less use of energy resources.
Who?
The Community Wellbeing Collective (CWC) is a socially engaged art collective of 30+ people living in and connected to Wester Hailes.
We are a diverse, intergenerational, intercultural, working-class community-led and run organisation - imagining, practising and creating space for collective wellbeing towards change.
Our space in Wester Hailes is run by and for the people, offering over 350+ free activities and welcomes over 7000+ visitors per year.
As we see winter on the horizon, we are in desperate need to better insulate our space so that it is warmer, for more vulnerable community members, and that it does not use as much heating to warm the space. Currently, there is ZERO insulation in the loft area, and this would dramatically change the warmth of the space and make our space much more environmentally friendly.
It is a standard trestle roof, you can see the outside, the yellow building in the above image.
We would love to have this in place by September if possible.
