VCEL: An Introduction to Funding Training, Module 3

In this session we will be focusing on evaluating your project and the monitoring you should be doing to enable you to produce a robust Evaluation Form for the Funder at the end of the timescale you have to utilise the funds. This is the final module of three and it is recommended that participants attend all three modules to get the most benefit from the training.

Scottish Borders Community Action

New funding opportunity: The Fore Summer 2026 grants now open

A new funding round offering unrestricted grants up to £45,000 is open to small charities and social enterprises seeking support to grow and strengthen their work.

Whole Family Support Third Sector Delivery Fund

A new £20 million fund will support large-scale third sector projects helping families access timely, community-based support across Scotland, with collaborative applications encouraged.

CARES funding

Open for applications for the 2026/27 funding year.

CARES supports a wide range of community energy projects - from community ownership of renewable technologies to installing renewable systems in community buildings, as well as community benefits and shared ownership opportunities.

Applications are now open, and they encourage you to apply as soon as possible. They will process, assess and queue applications. However, due to the Scottish Election in May, they cannot issue grant offers or confirm overall scheme funding until a new Government is in place and approves new awards.

TSI Activity 

Tyne & Esk Rural Communities Development Fund: MCA are partnering with Tyne & Esk CLLD to offer a range of fund surgeries and information sessions for anyone interested in the Tyne & Esk Rural Communities Development Fund.

The fund opens on Friday 1 May and closes at midnight on Sunday 31 May. Fund guidance will be available on the Tyne & Esk website from Wednesday 22 April. This year, the programme is primarily revenue-funded, with a limited amount of capital funding available. Tyne & Esk area funding covers all communities in East Lothian and Midlothian including Dalkeith Country Park, except for the urban centres of Musselburgh and Dalkeith.
