Social Enterprise Receives Print & Design Support

15 Mar 2022

An award-winning social enterprise based in Edinburgh has received support with the internal design of their new premises thanks to ESESCommunities.org.

Several local community groups responded – including The Edinburgh Remakery – launching their new premises at Ocean Terminal.
The Remakery is an award-winning environmental social enterprise with a mission to reduce waste through circular economy practices and repair and reuse; providing local people with the skills and services needed for them to become more sustainable.

GMP donated a full day of two staff member’s time to erect vinyl signage and other items at their new premises, as well as producing all items at cost price – saving the charity a sum in excess of £1,000.

Elaine Brown, CEO of The Edinburgh Remakery said: “GMP came to us with an offer of support right as we were fitting out our new premises, and we are delighted with the visual experience they have created for those visiting our exciting new premises. Their generosity has saved our charity a significant amount of money, which wouldn’t have been possible without the connection through ESES Communities.org

Roger Parry, Founder of GMP Print said: “GMP pride ourselves on being an ethical organisation, regularly making significant donations to initiatives such as tree-planting in the region. The ESES Communities portal is now allowing us as a business to look at how we can support other community causes. We were delighted to work with the Remakery in manufacturing several items of signage and branding, and installing these free of charge.

The charity have relocated to their new premises in Ocean Terminal, having previously been based on Leith Walk.
Their skilled team accepts donations of IT equipment from individuals and businesses – including laptops, tablets, iPads, PCs, smart phones, cables, chargers, and routers.
Within their workshop, staff and volunteers then work to refurbish equipment for re-use, as well as stripping older or obsolete items of reusable parts to support a circular economy and divert waste from landfill.
The Remakery also offers a range of projects to help local people re-use and reimage products through sustainable upcycling and repair.
