Description

Gala Fairydean Rovers FC Community Trust is a wholly volunteer-run charity providing football coaching and opportunities for over 300 people each week.

Our Para Football project brings together 28 local people with mental and physical disabilities to train and compete in matches, improving their health and well-being.

Gala Fairydean Rovers Para Squad is a team of players from across the Scottish Borders, governed by the SFA. Para-football promotes inclusivity and equality to help grow the game. Their coaches cater for everything they do to ensure that everyone is involved and everyone can participate. Primarily, they want everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves. See player feedback below:

“I consider the team more my family than anything else, I don’t think of it like a team.”

"I would say it is good for your mental health as well because it gives you something to do rather than sitting in the house all day.”

“I have got to meet lots of new people, and I got to connect with some old friends that I have not spoken to in many years."

Our Christmas Request

We plan to host a Christmas social for the group in December 2025, bringing players, their families, and carers together to celebrate their achievements on and off the pitch.

Any contributions you could make towards this event would be greatly appreciated by all involved, helping us celebrate this important group and the part they play in our Scottish Borders community.
