Description

A homelessness charity with a social enterprise has benefitted from a donation of furniture thanks to Maxi Construction.

Four Square is an Edinburgh charity supporting people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Employing over 80 staff at 7 locations across the city they provide support; advice; accommodation; and learning and training opportunities.

They also run one of Scotland’s largest social enterprises, Edinburgh Furniture Initiative, where they re-sell donated furniture to support the charity.

Maxi offered the furniture - including a range of tables, chairs and other items - following an office clearance.

As part of their commitment to the circular economy and supporting good causes, they reached out to ESES Communities team to identify causes which may benefit. This also included the Charteris Centre recieving a number of flip charts and other office items.

Founded in 1971 Maxi Construction has delivered new build, extension, fit-out and refurbishment projects in all market sectors throughout central and southern Scotland. They are involved in a number of projects within Edinburgh & South East Scotland, including contracts for the City of Edinburgh Council where they have completed numerous projects within the city’s communities including works at Wardie, Davidson Mains and Duddingston Primary Schools, and they are currently on site at Boroughmuir High School and Gracemount Civic Square.
