Donation of Furniture

Foursquare - Edinburgh Furniture Initiative
Description

A homelessness charity with a social enterprise has benefitted from a donation of furniture thanks to Bell UK and Fettes College.
As part of a project to refurbish their boarding accommodation, a number of items which were still in good condition have been donated to good causes.
Four Square is an Edinburgh charity supporting people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Employing over 80 staff at 7 locations across the city they provide support; advice; accommodation; and learning and training opportunities.

They also run one of Scotland’s largest social enterprises, Edinburgh Furniture Initiative, where they re-sell donated furniture to support the charity.
Jamie Hughes, Social Value Coordinator for Bell said: “Our clearances and removals arm of the business is growing, and with that we are presented with an opportunity to find new homes for useful items. At Fettes with the boarding accommodation clearances this included a number of high quality items such as wardrobes that someone looking to furnish their new home would make great use of. In addition, it is really great to work with a charity like Foursquare, knowing that whatever is raised from the sale of any items goes back into supporting people in need.”
Bell hold a number of public and private contracts across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Borders and Fife as the UK’s largest painting and decorating supplier, with a developing premises clearance arm. They are a family-owned business which values community engagement and supporting good causes.
