Gazebos & Supporting Equipment Required

Description
Hawick Community Council is one of 69 Community Councils within Scottish Borders, hold our own monthly meetings and participate in various other Committee meetings from outside agencies. We deal with issues referred by people in the community and we organise various events annually, like summer & Christmas markets, summer entertainment in the park, annual clean-ups. The Committee has the capacity for 15 members albeit currently there are only 13 members.

This ask is for the provision of 2 gazebos with supporting equipment, eg bags, weights, sides, tables to be used for several events/functions within the community and which will supplement existing equipment. Four events already scheduled for 2022 are two markets, one held during the summer months and one at Christmas, generally the first week in December to coincide with the official switch-on of Christmas lights. This year also since it is the Queens 70th Jubilee celebration we are planning an event for Friday 3rd June to commemorate the occasion in the Civic Space, Hawick. Furthermore, for summer 2022 we are planning musical events during July and August at the Elliot bandstand in Wilton Lodge Park.
So for all these events it is essential that we have satisfactory equipment, conscious of the fact that all the gazebos are weather and water resistant which ensures that the events can proceed irrespective of the prevailing weather and we can provide shelter for those attending and the more gazebos we have the less likely we have to cancel events due to the weather.
As a bit of background in 2021 the summer market attracted 23 stalls but due to the location it was not possible to exceed this number but at the Christmas market there were 37 stalls in a different more spacious street location. Currently the Community Council already has a stock of only 12 gazebos and for any event we have to borrow equipment from other groups within the town, which are much older stock than ours, some of which due to age are now not of such good quality and could be best described as "tired". We have more than adequate storage available within the cellar area of Hawick Town Hall for all our equipment.

Requirements
Donations of 2 new gazebos with supporting equipment, eg bags, weights, sides, tables to be used for several events/functions within the community and which will supplement existing equipment.
The success with the purchase of this equipment is not just with our own community events which we host ourselves, but we also have the facility to loan out to many other groups/organisations within the town who would wish equipment of this nature, such as Hawick Reivers Festival, Burnfoot Community Council, Hawick RFC, Hawick Common Riding so the community as a whole benefits from the equipment and will be a gesture on our part to offer reciprocal arrangements.
