Support an inclusive cycling club

In-Tandem East Lothian

Status: Open Request
Location: Across East Lothian
Town: Musselburgh

Description

We are In-Tandem East Lothian, a tandem cycling club based at Queen Margaret University.

We are a friendly and inclusive tandem club where people with disabilities can enjoy the fun, freedom, and health benefits of cycling in a safe setting.

Our mission is to provide safe, enjoyable cycling experiences for people with disabilities who may find solo biking challenging. Every ride pairs a participant with a trained front rider, ensuring comfort, confidence, and support. This opens the door to the physical and mental health benefits of outdoor exercise, while also creating a welcoming social environment that reduces isolation and strengthens community connections.

How you can help:

Our club was launched in October 2024, and as we become more established, we are collecting more cycling equipment to make our tandems safer and more comfortable to ride, and to repair and maintain them.

We are looking for the following items:

A lockable storage box. Something like this would be ideal! (Its dimensions are: W145.5cm x H125cm x D82cm). However, they can be flexible with any solution up to 150cm wide.

  • A garden hose cart and connectors
  • A pump-action pressure sprayer
  • A toolbox

Why help? We work proactively within our community to improve residents’ health and well-being and to reduce inequalities. Your support enables us to continue this vital work and extend our impact even further.
