Toy Appeal for West Lothian Children

Description

The West Lothian Toy Appeal is a year-round initiative founded in 1984 and managed on behalf of the community by River Kids since 2011.

Since its inception, it has helped to provide toys and other essential goods for children in need in our community, ensuring that no child goes without gifts at Christmas or on their birthday.

Originally held only once a year at Christmas time, the Appeal's outpouring of donations, volunteer support, and word-of-mouth attention has grown so much that we are now able to run it year-round, ensuring children receive gifts on their birthdays, too.

 

 

The Appeal benefits young people and families who are referred to us and are in the greatest need of assistance, with referrals coming from various sources such as the Citizens Advice Bureau, health visitors, social workers, family centres, housing associations, homeless units, and schools.
