IRES 2027 + Proposal Launched
As part of the Edinburgh & South East Scotland City Region Deal, the Integrated Regional Employability & Skills programme has launched the IRES 2027+ proposal, outlining the next phase for 2027–2033.
IRES 2027+ aims to deliver:
- 65,000 additional skills improvements
- 30,000 job outcomes
- 10,000 career progression
The 130‑page proposal outlines a practical, industry‑backed roadmap to support inclusive growth and help more people access higher‑skilled, better‑paid work across sectors, including AI, data & technology, advanced manufacturing, construction, net zero, and health & social care.
Co‑produced with over 180 partners, it reflects a strong regional commitment to future workforce development.
The City Region Deal Joint Committee has now signed a pledge supporting IRES 2027+, reaffirming long‑term collaboration on skills and employability. We’ll be inviting wider stakeholders to join this commitment in the months ahead.
