Alpha Labs Support Bridges Project
Alpha Laboratories
Alpha Laboratories form part of various specialist businesses that supply essential parts and expertise to customers across a wide range of markets – from aerospace to healthcare.
As part of their contract with University of Edinburgh, Alpha Laboratories reached out and contacted us via the ESES Communities Portal to see how they could support an organisation with their beneficiary request.
After looking through the request list on the ESES Communities site, they generously donated £200 towards Bridges Project request.
Bridges Project
Founded in 1984, Bridges Project are a youth work charity based in Musselburgh, East Lothian. They support young people between the ages of 12-25 in East Lothian and Midlothian who are often experiencing physical/mental health struggles, poverty and who are disengaged and isolated and may be finding it difficult to get back into school, finding employment or getting the right support for them.
Annually, Bridges Project support approximately 500 young people to make a safe transition into adulthood and assist with various adult responsibilities including employment, independent living and further education and training.
In September 2025, they registered a benefit request on our ESES Communities seeking donations towards supporting the young individuals they work with. These donations would go towards materials and ingredients for various groups they host including; arts and crafts, animal therapy, cooking groups, in addition to being able to cover different excursions across the Lothians for young people.
“This donation has helped us ensure we have the materials needed for group activities which help young people reduce their social isolation, build their confidence and develop life skills.”
-Simen Holm, Fundraising & Communications Manager
A huge thank you to Alpha Lab for this donation, which has helped us ensure that socially isolated young people will have the materials needed to take part in group activities here at Bridges Project that help them reduce their social isolation, build their confidence and develop life skills!
