Bell Supports Upmo
The Bell Central Scotland team recently completed a “We Transform” project for Upmo in Leith, Edinburgh, on behalf of their client, the University of Edinburgh.
Bell are currently one of the largest property services contractors in the UK, both in terms of geographical coverage and its directly employed workforce. They are dedicated to doing what is right and not what is easy. They take pride in this and believe the success of their contracts is driven by community investment and local involvement.
Through their work with the University of Edinburgh, they have been proactively collaborating with our ESES Communities Portal, and when they were keen to repurpose some monitors earlier in the year, we introduced them to Upmo.
Upmo is an Edinburgh-based charity supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism across Edinburgh and the Lothians. Through creative, educational and social opportunities, Upmo helps people build confidence, develop life skills and gain greater independence.
After meeting representatives from the Bell during their monitor donation, Upmo requested support to refresh key areas of their Leith premises, including a meeting room, corridor, and creative art space. The Bell Central Scotland team was pleased to assist.
A fresh coat of paint helped brighten and refresh spaces that are used daily by our students and staff. The newly painted walls also give us a great base for displaying student artwork, helping us celebrate their creativity and make the building feel more welcoming for everyone who visits. As a charity, support like this means we can improve our learning environments without taking funds away from the services and opportunities we provide for our students.
We are delighted to support this project, which makes a meaningful difference to adults with learning disabilities and autism by creating inclusive opportunities to connect, build confidence and thrive. It’s fantastic to contribute to something that delivers real benefits for the communities we serve.
