Saxen Supports Fresh Start
Saxen provides space planning, move management, storage, fit-out services, and exceptional furniture solutions throughout the UK for the offices, hospitality, healthcare, student accommodation, and education sectors.
Saxen’s Regener8 initiative helps reduce organisations' environmental footprint by providing services to collect end-of-life furniture. They divert products from landfill by finding a suitable second life or by breaking them down into component parts for recycling.
As part of the ESES City Region Deal, the University of Edinburgh encouraged Saxen, one of its suppliers, to review the community investment opportunities on the ESES Communities Portal. This is how they became aware of Fresh Start.
Fresh Start is an Edinburgh-based charity that works directly with people who are moving on from homelessness, providing essential household goods and social support services to help them start a new chapter in their lives.
They provide access to Starter Packs, White Goods, Fresh Rooms, a Community Pantry and much more.
They also work to prevent poverty and homelessness before it happens, through social and mental well-being programs. Fresh Start was looking for a large TV for their Warehouse, and Saxen had one that was looking for a second home.
Thanks so much for the donation. Getting started in a new home can be overwhelming and financially challenging so being gifted items like a tv makes a real difference to helping people settle into their new homes. We really appreciate the support.
