Shredall make an impact in Edinburgh

Shredall SDS Group offers a comprehensive information management service, encompassing shredding and recycling, document storage, and scanning.

As part of their supply contract with the University of Edinburgh, they are asked to engage with the ESES Communities Team to explore opportunities for social value investment in Edinburgh and Southeast Scotland.

Through this contact, they were introduced to three Edinburgh organisations: Fetlor Youth Club, Pennywell Pantry and UPMO.

Fetlor Youth Club’s mission is to provide children and young people with a safe space where skilled youth workers can take the time to build trust and support them, even in times of challenge, hardship, and real need.

They welcome over 300 young people to their club each week. Everyone who attends Fetlor is offered a healthy, hot meal and the opportunity to have fun, develop new skills and enjoy new experiences. All their activities and food are provided free of charge.

This is what they have to say about their recent donation from Shredall.

“With the donation we received, we purchased games and equipment that will be used across all our clubs. These ranged from the new version of EA FIFA for our PlayStation to board games. There is something for everyone who attends the various clubs.

It is always of great benefit to have new games and equipment to be able to use as it allows us to introduce new activities and helps keep what we offer fresh. Thank you, Shredall.

Pennywell Pantry is a dignified way to get food for low-income families in the Muirhouse and West Pilton areas of Edinburgh. They try to offer a wide range of fresh and store cupboard food.

Pennywell Pantry relies on volunteers and donations from the public and businesses. They are always grateful for food donations, as well as unopened toiletries and nappies.

The best way to support them is to make a financial donation, and this is how Shredall helped: "This donation made a real difference to our local community. It helped our Pantry provide extra food items, allowing families and individuals to get more for less, making a real difference to households facing financial pressure."

Thank you to Shredall for their support as part of the University of Edinburgh’s Community Investment work. Their contribution has helped support local community initiatives, and we are grateful for their commitment to the local area.

Upmo is an Edinburgh-based charity providing support and opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and autism.

UPMO's vision is an inclusive society where adults with learning disabilities and autism can thrive. Every week, they encourage their students to build confidence, use their imagination, and develop life skills through music, drama, art, IT, and digital, as well as other expressive and physical activities.

Shredall contributed towards their annual Halloween Disco.

The donation allowed us to buy new party decorations and refreshments for our Halloween student disco, making it a fun, themed evening for our students to enjoy. We are incredibly grateful to Shredall; these social events are an integral part of Upmo, and we appreciate your support in making the Halloween event a bit more special for our students.
