SSUK Support Children's Bereavement Charity
SSUK Ltd recently supported a bereavement charity with their request for devices to help deliver their services within the community.
As experts in the design, installation, and commissioning of bespoke AV solutions, SSUK ltd relies on a dedicated wider team to ensure every project is executed seamlessly.
Through their partnership with the University of Edinburgh, SSUK are committed to delivering social value across Edinburgh and Southeast Scotland. Working alongside the ESES Communities Team, they are specifically focused on leveraging their technical expertise to support local organizations with their technology needs.
Founded in Niddrie, Edinburgh, Richmond’s Hope provides a vital lifeline for children and young people (ages 4–18) navigating the pain of bereavement.
“At Richmond’s Hope we provide support for children and young people aged 4-18 years who have been bereaved. We provide a safe space for children to work through their grief both verbally and non verbally, to preserve memories of the person who died, to explore their feelings, to be given coping strategies and to understand the impact the bereavement has had on their lives.”
By utilising therapeutic play and specialized activities, they offer a dedicated space for grieving children to process their loss.
The impact of their work is best described by those they help: 'An amazing and unique service... Richmond’s Hope is life-changing.
The team at Richmond’s Hope were looking for devices - laptops or ipads for their Bereavement Support Team to be used to deal with referrals, do online calls and upgrade to more reliable devices.
SSUK were keen to support the amazing work the charity do by donating two new ipads, which have already been put to good use, and will support over 300 young people over the next year.
“Richmond’s Hope is extremely grateful for the generous donation of the new iPads. These devices will be used by our Bereavement Support Team during both adult and child assessments and integrate directly with our cloud-based database. The iPads will also support our work with young people during bereavement support sessions, helping us to deliver more effective and responsive care.”
