STEMCELL Supports Edinburgh Initiatives

STEMCELL Technologies supplies high‑quality cell culture media, separation tools, instruments, and training resources to scientists working in stem cell, immunology, cancer, regenerative medicine, and cellular therapy research.

As part of the ESES City Region Deal, the University of Edinburgh encouraged STEMCELL, one of its suppliers, to review the community investment opportunities on the ESES Communities Portal.

STEMCELL chose to donate to three Edinburgh organisations.

 

FetLor Youth Club is a cornerstone of North Edinburgh, dedicated to helping young people build the resilience and confidence needed to reach their full potential.

They provide a secure and welcoming environment, and their team of skilled youth workers builds lasting trust with members, offering vital support, especially during times of significant hardship.

 

They serve every young person a hot meal and prepare more than 300 each week, plus sandwiches and snacks. STEMCELL’s donation will support this work.

Community Renewal empowers local residents to improve their health, learning, and employability. In North Edinburgh, they run a pantry that offers a dignified alternative to traditional food banks, providing people with access to fresh fruit, vegetables, and household essentials at a fraction of retail prices.

They also support the community through initiatives such as arts and crafts sessions for children during school holidays.

STEMCELL’s donation will help stock their Fruit and Veg Shop, ensuring affordable produce remains available at a time when rising costs make this essential for many.

 

Passion4Fusion is a Black and Minority Ethnic organisation that tackles inequalities such as racism, underrepresentation, and poor access to services by providing culturally appropriate support.

They work to promote inclusive citizenship, empower Black African communities, foster racial harmony, and strengthen family engagement in education across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

STEMCELL’s donation will help them deliver meaningful activities, resources, and mentorship to young people, supporting them in building skills, confidence, and brighter futures in STEM careers.
