Fresh Start are an Edinburgh-based charity dedicated to helping people who have experienced homelessness successfully resettle and establish themselves in their new homes. Founded in 1999, the organisation operates on the belief that securing a tenancy is only the first step; true stability requires a "fresh start" through practical, social, and emotional support.
Fresh Start have been supporting people as they move on from homelessness into unfurnished tenancies across the city of Edinburgh for over 25 years. Fresh Start focus not only on homelessness prevention, but the period following temporary accommodation or rough sleeping where tenancy is gained in order to tackle the cycle of repeat homelessness.
One of the ways they support members is by providing ‘Home Starter Packs’ which consist of essential household items to help tenants to settle in. These include items such as pots and pans, cutlery, small electricals like kettles and bedding etc.
Thermo Fisher Scientific made a donation towards Fresh Start Home Starter Packs which will benefit 10 individuals to settle into their new home.
We would like to say a big thank you to the Thermo Fisher Scientific team for their support and donation of £150. We rely on corporate partners to help fund our services and wouldn't be able to support as many people as we do without your help. The donation towards Fresh start has gone directly towards supporting services that help people who have been homeless to get set up in their new homes and move forward with their lives.
