Clark Contracts supports Newton Grange

Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts has grown into a diverse, forward-thinking team delivering construction, refurbishment, fit-out and maintenance projects across the UK. They deliver projects for both private and public sector customers, including small alterations, quick-turnaround refurbishments, and new-build developments.

One of their customers, the University of Edinburgh, encouraged them to contact the ESES Communities Team to help them add social value to their contract. Giving back is at the heart of what they do; their team is committed to making a positive impact in the communities they serve, and they quickly found a cause they were keen to get behind.

Newton Grange Development Trust

Newtongrange is a former mining village in Midlothian, and the trust was established in 2023. Like many other community groups in this area, it works tirelessly to fill service gaps and make the community happy and thriving.

They acquired a lease from Midlothian Council for a disused pavilion and bowling green in Newtongrange Welfare Park. Both had been unused for several years and had fallen into disrepair, and the community wanted to bring the building back to life by creating a café, toilets, and meeting space.

They submitted a request on the ESES Communities portal for support to improve and make their outdoor space safer. Clark Contracts saw this request and generously donated £1,000. The trust invested this money in making their outdoor space accessible to all, ensuring their facilities are suitable for all members of the community.

Thank you to Clark Contracts for making a real difference. Your generous donation has helped fund our accessible patio, creating a welcoming Pavilion where everyone can connect with others in our community and enjoy the space, both indoors and out.
