Veolia volunteers at Bright Spark

Bright Sparks mission is “To provide valuable, involved, inclusive and quality based child and family oriented services which includes playgroup, holiday activities and after school support for children with complex additional needs and their families.”

Bright Sparks mission is “To provide valuable, involved, inclusive and quality based child and family oriented services which includes playgroup, holiday activities and after school support for children with complex additional needs and their families.”

The charity is fully grant dependent and run by a Management Committee made up of parent volunteers. We are a group of passionate parents trying to make a difference within our community, as we face the same daily challenges with our own children’s disabilities as our families who attend do. The opportunities and activities that we deliver aren’t widely available locally.

Veolia are a leader in waste management and are keen to engage with their community.  Their community aims are centered on creating positive, lasting impacts by proactively partnering with local stakeholders to address environmental and societal challenges. 

They recently found out about the request from Bright Spark's who were keen to attract volunteers as they have a large outdoor garden area accessible to all the centre's children and are always looking for gardening volunteers to help them keep the garden in order. 

The team at Veolia went along to the centre and spent they day helping out in the garden doing a range of tasks like painting benches,  wooden toys and the well-loved mud kitchen. 

By having volunteers assist with the tasks in the garden it helps the Bright Sparks to continue to support children and young people in the area.
