Home Basics (Tweeddale) Co Ltd
Description
Home Basics is a small social enterprise in the Scottish Borders specializing in providing low-cost furniture and other household items from our warehouses in Walkerburn and Hawick.
For over 20 years, we have been supporting families with everything they need from beds and tables to TVs and lamps. As a result, we support the reuse of over 150 tonnes of donated household furniture and electrical items each year.
We work across the Scottish Borders, ensuring affordable furniture is accessible to people in urgent need of furnishing a comfortable home. Our quality household and furniture items are also available to everyone to purchase at competitive prices through our two retail stores in Walkerburn and Hawick.
The Ask
We are looking for some IT advice. Problem: Whilst much of our computer data is securely stored on the cloud, in the current climate of computer hacking, we need advice on how to set up a network backup system for all our office PC's.

Why help?
Home Basics provides low-cost furniture and household items for people on low incomes, or those referred by the local authority and other supporting agencies. We are dedicated to having a positive impact in three key areas of today’s society:
People: On average 400 vulnerable people plus around 200 children benefit from the help and support of Home Basics charitable activity each year.
Environment: Our reuse and repair ethos prevents landfill and minimises carbon, essential to the local circular economy. Home Basics, customers, and kind donors benefit the environment by avoiding tonnes of furniture and household items from going to landfill each year.
Local Community: We encourage a reuse society and offer fantastic furniture at great prices. We create local jobs, volunteer opportunities, work placements, and training, and our whole team carries the reuse message, becoming mini-ambassadors in local communities.
