Description

(STAND) Striving Towards A New Day promotes the well-being of people living with dementia in Fife.

They do this by:

  • Offering local Dementia Friendly Meeting Centre Spaces led by people living with a diagnosis of dementia and their families and friends, supported by workers and volunteers.
  • Developing training for people with a diagnosis of dementia, created and delivered by people living a good life with dementia.
  • Influencing local and national policy and strategy, and getting involved in research projects.
  • Involvement in other projects, including work with young people, friends, and family.

The Ask:

They are seeking funding to support their music sessions, which have had a profoundly positive impact on participants. An example of how you can support: £320 would cover 4 one-hour-long sessions.

Here is what STAND have to say about it:

“Members have enjoyed musicians' visits to the groups to allow them to gently be involved in creative songwriting. STAND works with talented young musicians who encourage members to share thoughts, stories, and memories, and help them develop these into song lyrics, which they then put to music and sing with the group.

We would really appreciate your support so that we can help people living with dementia and their families to enjoy music and creativity.”
