Funding Support for Toddler Play Park

The Glencorse Centre

Status: Open Request
Location: The Glencorse Centre
Town: Auchendinny

Description

We are also looking for an outdoor storage unit for community equipment; you can see that request here.

Can you help us upgrade our toddler playpark?

The Glencorse Centre is a small, charity-run community centre in Auchendinny run with the help of a band of dedicated volunteers.

Our overarching aim is to help build, encourage and sustain lasting connections within our immediate community and beyond.

The centre is for everyone, no matter what they do, how old they are, where they’re from, or who they love; there’s something for everyone at the Glencorse Centre!

Within our lovely community hall, many small local businesses run classes including yoga, baby massage, fitness, dance for all ages, art, mental health and wellbeing groups, local craft groups, and more.

We are also proud to host the Penicuik Men’s Shed, a fantastic local charity that shares our core values. We were so pleased to offer them a home so they can keep doing the great work they do.

We have worked our socks off to redesign and rebuild this once derelict area, turning it into a community green space where all are welcome to take part.

How You Can Help

We are seeking support to enhance our outdoor facilities and help reopen and upgrade our toddler play park.

The park has been closed due to safety concerns and urgently requires repairs and improvements to make it safe and fun for local children and their families.

We would love a space that is inclusive for all children, including those with additional needs. Ensuring accessible equipment and features that promote play for every ability is an important feature.

With a growing population in the area and limited local amenities, this recreational space will offer a vital, welcoming environment for families to connect, play, and thrive.
