Help change young lives through sport
We Play Together - Blaze Basketball Club
Description
We Play Together exists to change lives through sport - giving young people, adults and Basketball “a bounce”.
Through our Blaze Basketball Club, Crags Centre and Schools / local Community Network we provide access to a range of Basketball and other activities.
Our staff and Coaches are central to this. They capture people’s interest and turn it into passion. They are role models for people in how to positively engage with life and Sport.
We help young people avoid taking paths which could lead to mental health issues, poor lifestyle choices, isolation and anti-social behaviour.
We generate Care, Community, Development & Performance - on and off the court.
Our hope is that young people & adults use their positive sport & club experience with us to navigate and shape their lives.
How you can help
1. Our club's "We Play Together League" runs fortnightly. It enables our junior members to mix with teams from seven other clubs.
We provide early, fun, and friendly games experiences for young players as a foundation for building continued participation.
We are looking to find £1500 to provide club vests for our young players and signage to improve player experience.
With care, the vests will last us at least three seasons, and the branded signs create a more exciting game-day environment.
Any contribution towards this goal will be very welcome and help improve young player experience.
2. Our School of Basketball programme aims to improve attendance and academic attainment in High Schools.
Through early morning basketball sessions, our coaches help re-engage disengaged children.
We work closely with each school to track attendance and classroom attainment for up to 20 pupils and evaluate our impact.
It costs us £650 per term / £2600 per year per school to train and provide a Coach and run a School of Basketball.
Any contribution towards this will enable us to increase number of the schools and young people we support.
Help us change young lives through sport – and give young people, adults and basketball “a bounce”.
