We are looking for a laptop to give to a young person so they can apply for jobs and complete college work.
Background
This request is being made via Positive Help. We are a specialist HIV and Hepatitis C charity in Edinburgh and play a significant role in people’s journey towards making positive changes in their lives. For almost four decades, we’ve helped people to live independently and improve their wellbeing.
Our Request
We are supporting a young person who has been in the UK for less than two years. They came here to finish their education and support their Mum. They live with their Mum and two younger siblings. They help out with childcare as, at times, their mum's health isn't great. We have been supporting this family since 2023 and are working with the young person to help them obtain a place on a college course and a part-time job.
They are unemployed and out of education at the moment. They have no income of their own. They want to be self-sufficient and proactive, especially when applying for part-time jobs. At the moment, they can only do so by visiting the local library. This laptop would be hugely beneficial for them to apply for jobs and complete college work from home.
