Description

Jock Tamson’s Gairden is a productive vegetable, fruit and flower garden beside Duddingston Loch that aims to improve wellbeing, alleviate social isolation, offer respite, and address unmet needs in the community.

We offer an inclusive environment for volunteers, with support for those who need extra support, such as those with learning difficulties, poor mental health, neurodiversity, and a range of other challenges.

Our produce is supplied to Edinburgh Community Food, helping low-income communities in Edinburgh enjoy healthy food; donated to the local Food Pantry; or sold locally to raise funds. We also serve the community by offering space to other local charities and organisations that offer additional supported volunteering opportunities in the garden. Overall, we have around 100 volunteers at the garden over the year.

All of our activities depend on fundraising, and one of our main fundraising activities this year will be the Edinburgh Kiltwalk. A team of volunteers, staff and friends of the gairden will take part and raise sponsorship to help keep the gairden running.

Our Ask

We aim to get team T-shirts with our logo printed on them for our kiltwalkers, to build team spirit and promote the gairden on the walk.  Provision of/ funding for some or all of the T-shirts would be really helpful for our fundraising efforts and help sustain this valuable community resource.

We need 30 T-shirts, with an estimated total cost of £478.50, as each T-shirt costs £15.95.

The Kiltwalk is in September. We hope to get the T-shirts by the end of July, so we can wear them for our training walks.
