Friends of Burdiehouse Burn Valley Park (FBBVP)

We are a community group and registered charity that aims to promote interest in and improve access to Burdiehouse Burn Valley Park, encouraging local residents to actively participate in its upkeep, protection, and enjoyment. We also support environmental improvement and community development by providing information, learning opportunities, and events for residents of the surrounding area.

We operate from a small building, but its roof desperately needs repair.

Our Ask 

We would welcome support from skilled tradespeople and the provision of materials to repair a small flat roof on our community-owned building, which is currently leaking.

Our 'Bothy' is a former City of Edinburgh Council park hut that had fallen into disrepair before being transferred to us. Since taking ownership, we have refurbished it as a tool store and operational base for the charity’s environmental and community activities.

 

 

The building has an ageing felt and bitumen flat roof that now requires repair to allow community activities to continue uninterrupted. It is a well used and much valued space, featuring a striking mural that makes it a notable point of interest within a deprived area of Edinburgh.
