School Uniform Donations

Edinburgh School Uniform Bank
Description

School children in Edinburgh will benefit from the provision of unform and essentials thanks to Maxi Construction to the value of £550.
The donation has been made to Edinburgh School Uniform Bank (ESUB), who provide clothing and other essentials such as stationery to families in the city who struggle to meet the rising costs of sending children to school.
Families referred to the charity for their support receive bespoke packs of new school uniform, whilst nearly-new items are given to schools and community groups.
In addition, seasonal appeals for clothing provide families with warm jackets, hats and gloves in the colder months.
A representative of ESUB said: “There are families facing real and present challenges in providing the essentials needed to send their children to school equipped to learn. With the costs of living soaring, this means that there is a real risk that families cannot meet their needs. Donations from firms such as Maxi Construction alongside the contributions of the public and our volunteers are essential in allowing us to reach those families who require our support most. We’re very grateful – and they also previously donated water bottles, so it’s nice to continue the relationship”.
Lisa Aitken, Business Support Coordinator at Maxi said: “Having come previously to donate the water bottles we were blown away by the fantastic work that Edinburgh School Uniform Bank do in supporting financially challenged families in the City. Going into the summer break this inspired us to do a school uniform drive for 3 of the local authority areas we work in – Edinburgh, West Lothian and Stirling. It’s important to us that we leave a positive footprint in the areas we work.”
