Description
Adoption UK in Scotland are a registered charity whose aim is to support not only adoptive families but kinship care families, foster families, families affected by fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), young people and adult adoptees.
This support is delivered through national helplines, shared information and resources, training workshops and therapeutic services, all of which both families and professionals can access.
The charity also creates opportunities for families to connect through family events, residential experiences, and localised and bespoke community networks. They currently have two community groups in the Lothians, one for parents of teenagers and one for parents of younger children.
Adoption UK host support groups who meet twice a month and they are currently looking for a space to host these in Edinburgh on evenings or weekends, the support group holds 6-12 people per session.
The charity are looking for:
- Modern and friendly space
- Access to kitchen area
- It would be useful if the venue was on bus routes
- Looking for commitment for 6-12 months
