Description

Borders Pet Rescue is an animal welfare and rehoming charity based in the Scottish Borders. Serving the local community for over 35 years, they help educate and promote responsible pet ownership and supporting pets and their owners who need help.

In addition to their rescue and rehoming centre, they also operate two charity shops based in Kelso and Galashiels. All 3 locations are run by a small team of staff and supported by volunteers and is the primary source of income which supports the charity work they do.

Every jumper sold, every book bought, every hidden gem discovered helps us provide food, shelter, veterinary care and second chances to animals across the Scottish Borders and beyond.

But here’s the honest bit… our Galashiels shop is looking a little tired.

To keep funding our vital work long-term, we need to modernise, refresh and re-energise the space. The retail world has changed, and if we’re going to compete with other high street retailers, we need to move away from the old-fashioned charity shop feel and create a brighter, more inviting, better-organised shopping experience that customers want to return to again and again.

We’re seeking support to help transform the shop into a vibrant, welcoming space that better showcases the wonderful donations we receive.

Support could include:

• Donations of fixtures and fittings, such as:
•  Clothing rails and display units
• Jewellery cabinets and display stands
• Shelving for bric-a-brac and books
•  Pet product displays
• Stockroom racking and storage solutions
• A changing room installation
• Updated lighting

Practical skills and volunteering time, including:

• Replacing flooring
• Painting and decorating (shop floor and stock areas)
• Wallpapering
• Joinery repairs
• Installing fixtures and fittings

Whether you’re a local business with surplus equipment, a tradesperson willing to donate time, or a volunteer happy to roll up your sleeves, your support would directly contribute to the future sustainability of our charity.
