Volunteer Week 2025 – 2nd – 8th June

13 Jun 2025

On Thursday, 29 May 2025, we had the pleasure of joining volunteers from across Midlothian at Newbattle Abbey College for Midlothian Community Action’s annual Volunteer Awards Ceremony.

We were representing Capital City Partnership, which sponsored the Volunteer Leader Award and Kay Hamilton from Rosewell Development Trust was the winner. This celebration was part of Volunteer Week, a national initiative in which we appreciate people’s kindness across Scotland.

One of our main objectives is to engage with communities throughout Edinburgh and South East Scotland. This means we get to see the difference these volunteers make to their communities daily. They improve the physical and mental well-being and environment in the places where they live.

The City Regional Deal's core principle is that communities receive additional positive outcomes through community benefits. We have curated a list below to present how your organisation can directly support volunteers.

Opportunities to support volunteers
