Description

The Edinburgh Society of Model Engineers (ESME) are the oldest model engineering club in the world. They are a community based model engineering organisation offering facilities to anyone who has an interest in model engineering.

They own an 11 acre woodland site in West Lothian, where they are building a Model Engineering Centre and miniature railway using the resources available and the skills of their members. To date the society have managed to erect an impressive building which is used for all types of indoor engineering for their members and creating items for the railways themselves. Many of the society members use their experience from their working lives to create an aray of exciting additions for the track including bridges and even creating all the miles of track from scratch.

The society enjoy working on constructional activities, working with other community groups and schools to build skills and share their knowledge around their hobby. They also share the joy and mental and physical health benefits that we all derive from a creative environment.

How can you support this project?

As part of the group's ambitious project they are building an 11 acre model engineering centre and model railway.  As part of this they need type 1 aggregate to surface their woodland car park. This will be used by all of the public visitors who come to enjoy our trains and will ensure that the area is safe in all weathers and for all users of all abilities.

If you or your organisation are in a position to help please get in touch through the button below.

The group are also interested in supplies of sand, cement, materials and donations that would help them with their long term project to develop this important facility.

We are also looking for Corporate Volunteers and building materials.
